Description
John Wilkinson owner & founder of 4T’s Brewery, worked as a drayman for Tetley Walkers (Warrington) and always explored the brewery grounds, from there he opened his own pub in 1998 called Wilkies Tavern which is now named The Tavern Sports Bar, which is a well-known cask ale pub in Warrington. His dream was to always start his own brewery and produce the styles of beers he loves.
Jordan Millington head brewer of 4T’s Brewery, worked at The Tavern Sports Bar since 2007 and always had a love for real ale. John gave him the opportunity to join the rising of 4T’s and he loves producing beers that everyone will love resulting in the slogan “satisfying taste buds everywhere”.

Handpull cask at the Real Ale Shack, Warrington. Dark brown, just a touch translucent, with a creamy light tan head. Chocolate malt, yeast extract, ash and a little ground coffee in the aroma. Bitterness in the taste, which is tempered by the chocolatey sweetness. More lingering chalky hop bitterness in the finish with underripe blackberry, caramel and TCP in the aftertaste. As cracking a cask stout as you're likely to find.

Cask at GBBF 2018. It pours clear straw yellow with a medium bubbly white head. The aroma is sweet, doughy bread, grassy, straw and cracker. The taste is dry, bitter, grassy, straw, cracker, rich tea biscuit, chalky, minerals with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad at all.

Cask @ Dockyard, Salford. Extremely dark with a small head. Toffee and caramels make it a flavoursome brew. Fuller-bodied and smooth.

Cask @ Royal Oak, Halifax. Black with a creamy off-white head. It says chocolate but tastes like vanilla, which is stated in both aroma and taste. It's very tasty despite a small thinness in its texture. Retried with similar effect at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Beer Festival 2025, although the chocolate and fudge came across very stated this time.
