Description
The Driftwood Spars Brewery was founded in 2000 and is joined with The Driftwood Spars – a unique and characterful pub loved by locals and visitors alike, which overlooks the dramatic and beautiful Cornish coastline here at Trevaunance Cove.

The brewery is a five barrel plant and we brew in small batches, allowing us great control over the quality and consistency of our beers. All our beers are gluten free and many are also vegan. We use premium British malts and source the finest hops; we are increasingly using new-wave English hops as new varieties are developed and perfected.

Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A very dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Sweet, roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel aroma and taste. Pleasant sweet milk stout but quite thin.

440ml can from Driftwood Spars. Gluten Free. Hazy pale yellow gold colour, bubbly white foam head and aroma of wheat, yeasty, banana, citric rind. Taste is wheat, fruity, banana, yeast, nettle, with some tangy bitterness. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, wheaty & yeasty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

500ml bottle from Driftwood Spars. Gluten Free. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of fruity hops. Taste is sweetish, malty, bready, hay, fruity, with some citric bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Taste is sweet malty, roasty hint, bready with toffee, caramel, straw, and some tangy, grassy, citric bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweetish malty finish. Quite drinkable.

Taste is malty, grainy, oats, fruity with zesty lemony citrus, pine and tangy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying dusty hoppy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Cask at Awakening 23. Aroma has sweet berries with underlying liqourice and malts. Opaque chestnut. Creamy off-white head frothy around the sides. Tangy berries with a bitter coffee edge. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick verging on creamy. Soft carbonation. Long astringent finish.

Panda at home, thanks to Ed Danlo, 11/03/23. Black with a khaki head that dissipates edgewards. Nose is dark malts, spice, hint of coffee, roasted tones, toffee, fruit cake mix. Taste comprises roasted bite, spice, cocoa powder, winter cheer, dark malts, dried fruit esters, ginger snap biscuit, toffee. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Earthy old skool stout ... sips fine.

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Ed Danlo. An oily dark brown black coloured pour with a loose mid tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, oily, ginger bread house, brandy snap sugars, bark, some alcohol, dark roast. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody roast, ginger, bark, alcohol, toasted green apple. some alcohol. Palate is semi sweet, spices, oily, moderate carbonation. Good fun.

Taste is sweetish, malty, rich and roasty, gingerbread, christmas cake with dried fruits, coffee & chocolate notes, and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.
