Bottle [from one of the 2015 Euro Swaps] @ home. Clear orange color, full sized white to off-white head that lasts for quite a long time. Aroma is malts, some hops. Taste malts, some hops, decently bitter, lightly fruity. Decent body, medium carbonation. Decent beer.

Mild haze on this amber beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is light and has a fine minerally crispness. Malts are clean, slightly dry and somewhat lager like. Very modest hops - mild floralness and just a whisper of citrus. Light semi dry finish. Clean and pretty drinkable but would have never of guessed this was supposed to be an IPA!

Mar ’15. On tap at Hopfenreich, Berlin, as Friday Über IPA. 6.5% ABV. It poured hazy amber, brown hued body with a medium sized head. Sweetish aroma, both citrus and caramel, a bit sugary, too. Flavor was surprisingly sweet, balanced with some herbal and dry paper hops. Lightly peppery, but not much. Medium body with moderate, but a bit watery and lightly bitter finish. Not really a "happy hoppy" example of the style, rather too sweet on the moments and definitely missed the character. Not a disaster though, drinkable.

Bottle @ home. Quite clear orange color, medium to full sized white to off-white head. Aroma reminds me a bit of a hoppy barley wine. Malts, caramel, slightly hops, toffee. Taste malts, lightly hops, slightly fruity but also a bit dusty. Perhaps a bit old (best before date says January 27th 2016). Ok beer.

50cl bottle from Sunninghill Wine Merchants - the only link to South Africa being Imported to ZA by: on the label. A murky amber pour with a billowing and rapidly fading white head; sweet tropical fruit aroma with some faint pine needles in the background; smooth and somewhat muddy in the mouth, but laden with citrus and resinous hops; and a sweet tangy finish. So this is a German interpretation of the American pale ale style, brewed for the South African market - enough said!
