Cask @ Haymarket, Edinburgh [050213]
Pale golden, clear thin dense white head. Aroma - slighly odd medicinal note, bit of a herbal hop. Taste of pale malts, soft spicy hops, slight herbal note, soft sweet pale fruits, dab of fusty yeast
Palate - thin to medium body, but oily, bitterish bit biscuity finish, bit yeasty, odd scorched note, little dry
Overall - This came across as rather odd - very average - not a fan of this

On cask @ Hawes Inn, South Queensferry. Pours golden with some haze and a decent head. The nose is of honey and cornflakes with a slightly unpleasant, dare I say it, sulphurous note, in there too. The taste is much more of citrus but there’s still a cornflake note and as well, the hint of sulphur is still lurking. The palate is medium bodied with a creamy/tangy texture and a dry, though not very fresh finish - it’s slightly malty astringent rather than fresh and hoppy. Overall, this wasn’t as good as I’d hoped and I’m not sure it was in the condition that best showed it.
