Reddish-brown. The aroma is lightly chocolatey, but also a bit off. Fairly watery on the palate, again a bit off. Stale hops, underwhelming malts. Rather disappointing, considering I normally love this style.

12 oz bottle-pours a foamy white head and slightly hazed gold color. Aroma is honey, hint of wheat. Taste is tart and harsh, acidic upfront, some honey. Rating saved by aroma and appearance.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very tall and fast-fading (looking fake carbon dioxide) tan head. Aroma of prunes ,metal, blood, raisins and roasted malt. Medium-bodied; Sharp metallic flavour of raisins, prunes, coffee (starbucks - burnt), chocolate and some light hops are even noticeable. Aftertaste lasts long and remains fairly potent - dark shades of malt along with pit fruits with not much sugar leftover. Overall, a decent beer - not horrible, but doesn’t show what a real oatmeal usually shows - which is body and a good malty sweetness. Worth trying if you are down in the Southwest or if you really like Oatmeal Stouts. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Sam’s Liquour in Oklahoma City, OK on 25-September-2007.

Crummy rusty coloured body with hardly any head at all. Aroma of malt with some nuts and a very mild sweetness thrown in the mix. Light-bodied; Strong malty flavour in the taste along with some raisins & pit fruit tasting flavours. Aftertaste shows an unpleasant sweetness and funk in flavours...coupled with a cardboardy-type feel. Overall, not a very good beer and one that should be passed up; even by out-of-towners! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Joe’s Place in Norman (Oklahoma City), OK on 09-July-2007.
