Description
Pig Iron Brewing Company is a 3-Barrel Microbrewery based in Rowley Regis specialising in traditional real ales.

Starting in 2014 in Brierley Hill, then moving to Rowley Regis in 2017 after purchasing a traditional black country pub in the heart of Rowley Regis, The Britannia Inn, The brewery has steadily been improving and expanding, with another outlet being purchased in 2016, a tiny micropub called The Weavers Real Ale House. The original brewer, Tim Hibbert (Tim from Zim), came back on board in 2019 and has excelled the Brewery forward substantially with his attention to detail.

12/2/2019. Cask at the Real Ale Tavern, Bewdley. Poured amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, hops and slightly sour berries. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness with a light tartness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation.

Cask @ Real Ale Tavern, Bewdley. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are fruits, berries, hops, malt and has a sweet berry finish.

[ As Pig Iron Best Bitter ].Clear medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, toasted, caramel, grain. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, toasted, grain, sweet malt, caramel, nutty, vomit notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160810] 6-2-6-3-12

Cask, hand-pulled half-pint on 5th Nov 2018 at The Crown Inn, Oakengtaes Shropshire. Clean and clear golden pour, white head. Hoppy little number with a solid piney base in both the aroma and flavour; liked it.

Cask @ GBBF 2016. Pours a slightly hazy pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.
