Description
Beginning as a 5 barrel plant in 2005, Digfield Ales attracted attention early on with a multi award-winning outing at their very first Peterborough Beer Festival in 2006. Now a well established 15 barrel plant, the brewery has an enviable reputation for consistently produced, quality real ales, with clarity and flavour being absolute watchwords.

Cask (handpump) @ Three Cups, 🇬🇧 45 Newnham Street, MK40 3JR Bedford, Bedfordshire, England.

[ As Digfield Fool's Nook ].
ABV: 3.8%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, light hoppy, fruity hops, light citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity hops, UK hops, pale malt, fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 13/1/2018. Near black in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Toasty malts, a tangy lactose edge, touch of fruit and moderately dry finish. Good.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 13/1/2018. Golden in colour, with a slight, white, head. A touch of leafy hops, stone fruits, weetabix malts and a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at the St. Ives 'Booze on the Ouse' beer festival, 2017. Pours amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of hops, caramel, malt, fruit and floral notes. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Light to medium body, slight oily and watery texture, average carbonation.

Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, roasted, chocolate.
