Handpull cask at the New Castle, Sneinton, Nottingham. Light gold and clear with a tiny white head and some light lacing. Gentle lemon biscuity aroma. Odd astringent taste, it'd new one so no problem there but a bit hard to get down sadly. Odd medicinal finish with remnants of lemon and vanilla. Not ideal.

Gravity cask at the Angels Micropub, Belper. Light to mid-gold, slightly hazy with a tiny bit of white head. Light aroma of dried grass, cantaloupe pulp, antiseptic. Taste is simultaneously sweet and astringent in the first instance. Bittering hop asserts mid-sip but it ends more sweetly, with a gentle vegetal sugary character. A nice enough drink. A very very English IPA.
