Description
Burdock brewery set up shop in what used to be an old Portuguese chicken restaurant, and they transformed the space into an artist-driven bar/restaurant/music hall/microbrewery run by a group of musicians and music lovers. They offer a rotating list of clean pale ales, complex saisons, crisp pilsners, zippy sours, and beer-wine hybrids that are all brewed in house.

Murky blond colour. It's a bit dirty and yeasty, but it has a nice fruity character, fresh citrus and some peach.
Nice.

Pale yellow colour, murky. Fruit aroma, armpit. Smooth mouthfeel, sweet, good strength; delicate malt flavour, with very good fruity character, stone fruit and white grapes.
Very good.

Cloudy pale blond colour. Nice aroma, funky, lemony, a bit of poop. It's dry and with sharp lemony acidity, the complexity is augmented by some funk, the finish is slightly salty; there is a strange note, could be honey, but it's probably the Gewurz.
Nice.

750mL bottled pours a hazy pale peachy golden with a large white head. Aroma is full of gently tart plums, some crisp apples, and a bit of wild yeast. Flavour is dry and tart, with lots of tart plums, a touch of apples, lots of seltzery notes, and bready malt. Tart, plum-y, and dry, but not particularly complex. Not bad.

A bit peachy colour, with a nice fruity character, soft plums, some hop character but I don't think there's any hop in this, is there? So is that the peach? I like it. The buggy character is really pretty solid, the base is wheaty and fun, and the fruit character is also nice.

(750ml bottle from the Burdock Bottle Shop) Pours quite hazy pink-peach tinged gold with a large, stable white head and lace. Aroma of soft cereals with light lactic tartness, hints of sourish apple must, tree fruit and tannic skins, musty funk. Flavour is lightly tart, crisp and mineral with soft notes of tart apple and tree fruit, not so much plum per se, cereals, very light funk, some very subtle skin tannins in the finish. Light bodied, spritzy sort of carbonation. I imagined this having more fruit character; though it's a nice refreshing low ABV tart brew, it's not really worth the premium for the fruit additions that don't seem to contribute much .

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out wild yeast, rustic saison yeast, and a little hay. Flavour is more tart, with rustic saison yeast, wild yeast, a touch of tart citrus, and light hay. Complex and nicely expressive of the wild yeast. Good acidity and balance. Excellent.
