Description
Burdock brewery set up shop in what used to be an old Portuguese chicken restaurant, and they transformed the space into an artist-driven bar/restaurant/music hall/microbrewery run by a group of musicians and music lovers. They offer a rotating list of clean pale ales, complex saisons, crisp pilsners, zippy sours, and beer-wine hybrids that are all brewed in house.

Canned Dec 17, 2025, drunk Mar 6, 2026.
Roasty, lightly beany, older coffee with a touch of stickiness to it. Bit of crusty, old bread. Hard to get at much passed the older coffee-like roastiness.
Thin, seltzery, like watered-down coffee that is also old. Sure, it has a trace of chewy oat, but this is a pretty piss-poor attempt at the top tier NA beers today. To be fair, I haven't really found a brewery doing NA stouts well yet (though I've heard Mash Gang does a good job, and I'm hopeful for the Le Bazaar stout I have in the fridge).

Purplish and hazy, thin head. Bright vinous, mild tartness, it has that lightness of body that Burdock typically has. But there's great complexity here, really leans back to the prime of Burdock.

375mL bottle, pours a dark amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma is full of musty grape skins, plenty of bugs, and light oak. Flavour has a nice buggy character, lots of vinous notes, grape skin, and rustic notes. A bit acidic, with a buggy, vinous finish. Good.
