Description
Dorset Nectar artisan cider is naturally fermented from 11 varieties of West Country cider apples grown on our family run farm. The sun ripened apples are whole crushed and pressed at the orchard’s cider barn, then patiently nurtured to create a smooth, delicious cider that is really fruity in taste and bursting with flavour. We hand crafted both of our hydraulic presses, the largest using two 58 tonne rams. We press using a traditional rack and cloth method and are renovating an old twin screw 1863 press from Chard.

500ml bottle. Sparkling, bright golden colour, white foam head that dissipates away and aroma of ginger, ginger ale. Taste is sweet, ginger, dessert apple, sugary, ginger ale, some tartness. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry gingery finish. Quite OK

Bottle from Budgens, Swanage. Syrupy apple aroma. Amber gold. No head. Medium-heavy sweet. Honey at the forefront. The sour apply is there still though and adds restraint. Light-medium bodied. Average carbonation. Long finish with a touch of dryness. I like. Refreshing after a day in the sun.

Box @ The Pub, Todmorden. Ugly cloudy-amberish brown, lookign like congealed blood. It has a good mildly tangy healthy apple taste that’s practically devoid of sweetness.

Sample courtesy of minutemat, cheers Mat! Amber gold colour, no lasting head and aroma of funky apple. Taste is sweetish, funky, apple, with some solventy notes and mellow tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, medium sweet tannic finish. Quite drinkable.

500ml bottle from Beer District, Buxton. Pours a deep unclear amber. Aroma is wild, funky with acetic hints. Taste continues, underlying acetic vinegar remains underlying, good natural fruit sweetness, funk hints, some wood. Overall, an enjoyable, characterful naturally fruity cider with a gentle sparkle.

Half-pint at Wakefield Labour Club, kindly shared by ManVsBeer. Bright golden body, just a few bubbles on the surface, dotted lacing. Apple skins on the nose. Mid-dry apples and ripe fruity hints to the taste buds. Ends sweet and mid-tart. Just alright. (Wakefield 04.07.2019).

Keg at The Merchant, Canary Wharf, 27/06/19. Clear golden, carbonation evident, topped with a decent off white cap as ciders go. Nose is apple, mellow berry, not too OTT on the fruit front. Taste comprises apple orchard, straw, light berries, apple pulp. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Ok.
