Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours lightly hazy purple with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma is sweet - sour, tangy, intoxicating, jammy, blueberry muffin, bubblegum, sugary, pic nix and tuck shop. The taste is sweet - sour, sugary, yet tart & tangy, lactic, tangy, blueberry yoghurt, jammy, sour fizzy candy, tangfastics, fizzy bubblegum bottles, sugary and blueberry muffin with a tangy candy finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Novel. Even through it is sour, it's too sweet for me. Feels sugary.

Slightly hazy golden beer, white head. Zesty lime aroma with a little malt. Flsvour is limey, a little malt, some bitter hop. A fairly straightforward lager with a bit of lime through it. Nothing exciting but it'd hit the spot well enough on a hot day.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours cloudy strawberry pink with a touch of orange and decent fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet and perfumed, dubble bubble bubblegum, strawberry puree, tangy, jammy, icing sugar, white chocolate mice, sherbet and fizzy strawberry. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy upfront, sweet - sour, pic n mix, sugary, bubblegum, fizzy strawberry, foamy shrimps, light acidity, lactic twang and some alcohol with a soft, fruity. Medium+ body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Good fun. Nice sourness, but still a bit sugary.

Keg draught at the Globe, Huddersfield. Lightish gold, hazy with a small white head leaving lacing down the glass. Big sweet rhubarb notes in the aroma - is there such a thing a candied rhubarb? - alongside grassy notes and soft sugary citrus. Taste takes it down a notch, with light tartness giving way to more rhubarb and glazed pastry. Keeps you guessing throughout but the finish turns out a trifle short. Light to mediumbody with intense carbonation. Glad to make its acquaintance.

Can from Great Grog. Black body with lots of chunks beneath a beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavour of berries and dark chocolate. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. It’s not in good condition - lots of chunks - but the aroma and flavour punches well above 4.4% ABV.

Can from JK Fine Food. It pours cloudy burnt - orange blonde with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet and intoxicating, sweet shop, pic n mix, foamy banana candy, foamy shrimp, strawberry candy, white sugar and wheat bread. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, then gets rather, rather sweet and sugary, milk sugar, foamy banana candy, strawberry candy, pic n mix, vanilla, strawberry milkshake, wheat bread, nip of alcohol and strawberry mini milks. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Far, far too sweet and sugary. Gave me furry teeth... Like blending pic n mix with sugar. Jeebus.
