Description
Picture yourself eating a handful of red raspberries, drinking a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade, or sipping on a glass of fine wine. Those sour, tart, and acidic flavors you are currently imagining are what makes sour beer taste quite different from traditional beers. These flavors, which are unique to sour beers, are the product of time and the right mix of microorganisms. While our sour beers age in oak barrels for an average of one year, a blend of microorganisms will shape the sour, tart, and acidic flavors that we’ve come to desire. Yes, sour beers take an exceptionally long time to develop, but we think that sour beers are well worth the wait.

Tap at Gallery II: Beauty From A Barrel. Pours dark ruddy brown with little head. Acetic sour brown aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is pretty sour red/brown. Nice touch of red berry. Very nice drink.

Tap @RateBeer Gallery II. Pours clear chestnut, small tan head, good lacing. Aroma is oaky, vinous, tart cherry, dried fruits. Flavor is a bit sweet at the beginning and very dry afterwards, vinous and lovely, medium plus tart.. Just a touch of astringence. Light bodied and very drinkable. Nice.

Tap @ City Beer. Pours deep brown to black with a small tan head and decent lacing. Aroma is cherries, oak, tart lemons. Flavor is the same, light sweet, light tart with a dry finish. Picked up something that I thought was a bit odd but couldn’t place - now I realize it was raspberry after reading the description. Medium body, oaky, fruity and nice. Re review on tap at trb. Amazing raspberry jam.

Tap @City Beer. I wish I had better notes, but here goes! Pours hazy golden with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is bretty and fruity, with notes of oak. Flavor is light sweet, light tart and just a little touch of funk. A bit of woody astringence as well, but not a lot. Lightish body. Nothing amazing, but a pretty solid house beer!
