29/9/2023. Tap at the Briarbank German Beer Tap Takeover. Pours very dark mahogany brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is smoked cheese, bratwurst, bbq meats, smoked malts. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with smoky notes. Medium body, average carbonation. Not my favourite style but wasn’t bad.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with minimal off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and nuts in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet, juicy and malty at first. After a while some bitterness and floral hops come though plus traces of citrus and tangerine. Finish is quite fruity. The is reasonable – but lacking that hoppy punch I expect from an IPA.

Keg @ Dukes, Halifax. Clear golden with a thick and smooth creamy head. Good body given its strength but only a light mosaic hop influence with a citric undercurrent in this respect. Mostly hoppy in taste.

Cask @ Kobenhavn, Halifax. Slightly darker golden with a thick creamy-frothy head. Good body and feels sessionable at the same time. Hoppy with hints of citrus, although never gets fruity in this respect. Has a mildly gritty aftertaste. Quite smooth in the palate.Seen at Friends Of Ham in Leeds too.

Keg @ Kobenhavn, Halifax. Hazy pale golden with a small head. Has a higher citrus bitterness taste, tropical fruity in design, and this is evident in its nose too. Its fruitiness develops in its aftertaste

Cask at North Bar, Leeds. Pours hazy yellow with a thick white head. Aromas of light tropical fruit, lychee. Taste is more of the same. Light bitter finish.

Cask @ The Boot. Misty golden yellow appearance, small white head. Nice enough seshy pale with floral citrus & grapefruit notes, and a light bitter tickle.
