We are Oedipus Brewing. Founded by four friends in Amsterdam, we’re always ready to go where our taste buds take us. Oedipus is about fun, energy and doing things differently. Since mid 2019 has Heineken a minority interest in the brewery. On June 21, 2023, it was announced that Heineken had acquired all shares of the brewery and thus became full owner of the brewery. The takeover coincides with the move of Oedipus.

The brewery and taproom at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 85 were closed on April 14, 2024. The brewery and taproom were moved to Schaafstraat 19, 300 meters further, where the Oedipus Craft Space will open in the early summer of 2024.

Tap @ Carnivale Brettanomyces 2014. Amber color, cloudy, Vinous aroma with canned apricot, berries and lychee. Soft hints of vanilla. Malty sweetish, soft sour and vinous flavor. Oak, vanilla and lime. Amazing complexity.

Bottle @ Carnivale Brettanomyces 2014. Deep dark Brown color. Malty roasty salty leathery aroma. Malty sweet roasty salty caramelly flavor. Leathery. Only a hint of sourness. Needs more time.

Tap @ Carnivale Brettanomyces 2014. Blonde, cloudy. Floral aroma with apricot. Pleasant fruity sour flavor with lemon, Apple, floral notes and dominant apricot. Very nice.

Bottle. Golden color. Citrus, rye bread, plums and floral notes in the aroma and flavor. White berries. Amazingly complex. tart notes. I’m pleasantly surprised.

Bottle. pale amber color. Yeasty notes and ripe melon in the aroma. Moderately hopbitter flavor with grassy notes, ripe melon and citrus, Thinnish. Quite drinkable.

Tap @ 1st Anniverasary Kaapse Brouwers Festival. Pale blonde. Apple, lemon and floral notes in the aroma and flavor. Thin, certainly not too sour. Even a bit on the sweet side for a Berliner weisse.
