Near black. The aroma has a lot of chocolate - quite desserty. The taste is like a chocolate liqeur, just rich milk chocolate. Lots of sugars and light alcohol note in the finish.

Dull golden-amber. Almost cheesy the way the malts and alcohol come together. Strong. The alcohol maybe lends a slight plasticy note. Some caramel finish.

Golden. Nice bubbly head. Bright citrusy American (amarillo?) nose. Nice bitterness - citrus, tropical fruit. Refreshing, slightly creamy. Really drinkable.

Pigs Ear. Clear amber beer, no head. Over dry palate. Semi sweet malt with a little orange hop. Dry finish. Standard stuff marked down for being over dry.

Pigs Ear. Clear gold beer. Ghostly white head. Lots of citrus marmalade, mild lemon and orange - grapefruit. Lower carbonation than I would prefer but lively fruit. Semi dry finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Sessionable and decent.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 8/07/09. Deep amber with a moderate, lacy off-white head. Savoury malt aroma with plenty of nuttiness, cereals and some earthiness. Flavour was similar, with a cereal edge, a slightly vegetal background and a big, long bitter finish. A pleasant change.
