Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Aroma is malty base with resin, fruit, citrus and mild pine hops. Appearance is beautifully clear amber with nice sparkle, finger width off white foamy head with fair retention and nice leggy lacing. Taste is as aroma but the elements are in conflict with one another and produce a disharmonious mix with no clear flavor direction and just a bitter feel. Palate is medium bodied with frothy texture, average to soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Overall, a beautiful look and wonderful smell--it really is all about the aroma--because it does not carry through to the taste. Much promise that falls short.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a glossysemi-burnt yellow to orange color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated pretty quickly. Rings of lacing rim the sides of the glass.
The smell takes in citrus bitter to sweet hops bursting into a dried piney hoppiness. Light sweet onion dankiness balances in nicely.
The taste was basically the same with the dried resinous piney flow of hops really crowding the flavor nicely. It just really comes together well. Dry resinous aftertaste. Light smooth citrus to piney finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping to sessionable quality about it. Carbonation felt pretty good for the style and for me.
Overall, hot damn, Mayflower, you guys did a great job on this beer.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Aroma is strong citrus, fruit, pine, resin. Appearance is hazy yellow with no sparkle, ephemeral white head that fades to ring with trace lacing. Taste is citrus, pine, moderate bitterness with some fruity sweetness and a bit of corn chip at the end. Palate is medium bodied with sticky texture and lively carbonation and dry, slightly bitter finish and warmth down the esophagus. Overall, completely as advertised on the label. It could have used a little more malt balance but it’s very good.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than about forty seconds. Some nice semi-sticky lacing sticks to the glass and then slides right on into the beer.
The smell had a sweet to moderately bitter to roasty coffee bean - like aroma. Dark fruits come in lightly to balance.
The taste pretty much replicated the aroma nicely. Sweet sliding dark fruity to roasty aftertaste running into the finish adequately.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping to sessionable quality. Carbonation runs nice and smooth. Shows a slight degree of stickiness but not overbearing.
Overall, this was a pretty good RIS. Right on par and pushing the limit of perhaps just a tad above.
