Pours an opaque gold from a can, lots of small floaties. Light cucumber and orange aroma, similar flavor, fair amount of syrupy sweetness. Good beer.

Can from Craft Beer Cellar Fenway’s fridge section, canned 5/31/16, drunk 8/9/16. I assumed this would be more fresh than it was, being a local brewery from a local store, but I get the feeling Mayflower doesn’t fly off the shelves; I gave up on them myself quite a while ago, but was interested to try this one and see how they were doing competing in the VERY competitive New England IPA market.
Large head is white and thick, receding slowly to cover. A deep brass-colored body shows low haziness and plentiful carbonation.
Hmmm, not at all what I was expecting from the nose. Instead of a juice or citrus bomb, I’m greeted by very intense, tangy, white grape. Some light lime zest, hints of lemon and unripened tangerine on the side, with rich sourdough-like maltiness and no alcohol but some unwanted resin. Fairly aromatic, though a bit unidimensional. Says this is columbus, equinox and galaxy but all I’m really getting is white grape which i only really associate somewhat with galaxy. I suppose there is nectarine and pine here, from the galaxy, as well (or nectarine and resin, more accurately). Whatever the case, it’s a bit aggressive and twangy.
In the mouth it’s even more given to the resin. Whew. This is bitter, acidic stuff....intense white grape, dry nectarine, pine sol/soap and big honey and light sourdough notes from the malt/malt/hop interaction. The texture is soft, with good attenuation and yet a strong maltiness and I really do like the flavors they got from the malt; rich honey and light bread with just enough character to play a part with out detracting from the hops. Unfortunately, there’s just WAY too much acidity and white grape character here. If it’s this resinous/bitter after 2+ months, I’d hate to have seen it much younger...

Pours an ever so slightly hazy amber from a bottle, white head with lots of lacing. Big hops all around. Nose of soap and sex, flavor kind of similar. Malt...check, but this is all about hops. Don’t serve too cold, or if you do wait for it to warm up some. Otherwise there’s an overwhelming bitterness. Good beer.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from One Stop Market. Appearance is clear piss yellow with finger-width white fizzy head with poor retention, minimal sparkle and no lacing. Aroma is strong cracker, pilsner-like malt with mild fruit/citrus. Taste is strong cracker/biscuit with mild bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, average to lively carbonation and lightly bitter, somewhat dry finish. Overall, flavorful for a blond ale.

Appearance is cloudy golden yellow (large bits of sediment in suspension) with 1/2 finger-width white head with poor retention and small sudsy lacing. Taste is front half sweet malt, pine, fruit, and 2nd half light bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with slick texture, average to lively carbonation with bitter finish. Overall, above average except for the appearance.

Taster pour at Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Across America. Appearance is hazy dark yellow with finger-width nice foamy white head. Aroma is corn chip, strong pine, with resin. Taste is strongly bitter resin with some pine and some corn chip. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, soft-to-average carbonation and bitter finish. Overall, the dominant feature is bitterness--more than I want.
