Cask at Tamworth Beer Fest. Clear gold. No head. Aroma has slightly sour stone fruit. Flavourwise is similar but watered down, as is the syrupy element. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent. Bland.

Cask at the Plaform Bar, Hexham, 15/05/2025.
Clear golden topped with a lasting white cap.
Nose is grass, herb, straw, stewed fruits.
Taste comprises grass, fruit slice, herb, fruit cake.
Medium body, soft carbonation, semi drying close.
Okay cask affair if nothing I'd revisit.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Pours a murky light brown with big beige foam - took a while to settle into a slightly scummy top .Aroma of caramel, raisins, nuts, dust. Taste of biscuit, raisins, plums, nice fruitiness, dusty and earthy hopping. Quite good.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Pours a clear red-amber with thin off-white head. Aroma of plum, berries, caramel, malt, raisins. Taste of berries, citrus zest, toffee, bitter grassiness with spice notes. Light bodied. At first I found the conflicting flavour notes a bit odd but it turned out to be an interesting light red ale.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Dark ruby red pour with small off white head. A fairly faint aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste again quite simple with bitter roast malts dominating, some chocolate, nuts and light fruitiness. Medium bodied. Doesn't really have the colour of a stout but there is a bitter roastiness. Decent body. Not much else to it though.

Handpull cask at the Platform Bar, Hexham. Deep golden with a hint of amber. Metallic aroma, some overripe orange peel. Tastes a bit better with a stong fruity bittersweet character. Quite marmalade-y but it workd here. Slight medicinal finish. Light body, no carbonation. Not really my sort of thing.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear amber gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, sweet. Floral citrus, a little juicy peel, not that bitter. Light and semi dry finish. Tidy.
