Description
Goose Island Beer Company began as a single brewpub opened in 1988 by John Hall. By 1995, John’s beer had become so popular that he decided to open a larger brewery, along with a bottling plant to keep up with demand. 1999 brought even more growth, along with an additional brewpub, and today, what was once one man’s pint-filled dream has become the Goose Island empire you know and love.

in 2011, Goose Island Beer Company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev. Since then, we’ve continued to brew beer that we’re proud of and now we get to share these beers with our friends both nationwide and internationally.

Wonderfully rich vanilla notes, a bit of rye bite. Quite smooth. This one is excellent.

The bourbon is prominent, good bit of coconut in the mix. It’s good enough but not my favorite Bourbon County.

Number one with a bullet! A 5 ounce draft. Aroma shows me bold chocolate with mild hazelnut and fudge. Flavor is bold marzipan and hazelnuts. Thick texture with a lot of lingering hazelnut. Booze is here. Can’t wait to see what my bottles do after 10 months of sitting!

5 oz draft. Aroma of Heaven Hill, Wild Turkey and mild cherry juice. Flavor thankfully is not overpowered by cherry purée. Shows a good amount of bourbon with a mild cherry accent in the finish. It is fresh on draft so it is a little bit boozy. 9 to 12 months from now this is gonna be perfect

On tap at the second annual final Black Friday dark beer event at PAYETTE Brewing. A deep dark brown pour that even stains the glass brown on a swirl. Lost of dark caramel roast, tootsie rolls and a little dark cherry note. A bit like that German chocolate cake. Sweet rich and moderately boozey for such a big beer.

Chocolate, fudge, nuts, marzipan, lots of bourbon. Curious if the bottle would be this hot.

Cherry, bourbon, cognac, lots going on but blends well. Wonderful how the bottle will differ from the draft.

Hazy gold with a frothy white head and a soft cereal and citrus aroma. Just a little fizzy with sweet cereal malt, grassy hops, fruity notes and a dry moderately bitter finish.
