Description
Goose Island Beer Company began as a single brewpub opened in 1988 by John Hall. By 1995, John’s beer had become so popular that he decided to open a larger brewery, along with a bottling plant to keep up with demand. 1999 brought even more growth, along with an additional brewpub, and today, what was once one man’s pint-filled dream has become the Goose Island empire you know and love.
in 2011, Goose Island Beer Company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev. Since then, we’ve continued to brew beer that we’re proud of and now we get to share these beers with our friends both nationwide and internationally.

I have not seen a BCS that kicked up a head from the tap and needed to settle before, like Guinness. Black with ruby red edges, a thick tan head that takes several minutes to go away. Nose gathers a lot of brown sugar, that I first thought was maple, then a little cocoa, raisins and cinnamon. Taste is your usual thick Bourbon County, jacked up with those adjuncts. Not sure how to tell what the rice is doing here: just adding a little bit more to the alcohol? The beer does "dance" a little on the tongue. And I get an idea of strawberry and cherry.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, praline. Taste: Praline, cocoa, roasted malt, vanille, lightly Boozy Bourbon, some marzipan and hints of anise. Chocolate cream cookies. Hints of Nutella Hazelnut Chocolate Cream. Sweetish. A bit too sweet for me. Over medium to full body, below average carbonation. Medium to over medium sweet, light bitterness. One of the least BCBS beers I've had so far.

Shared with Caesar and ShivanDragon @ Mancave Bunnik. Opaque pitch black color, small brown colored head. Aroma and flavor are malts, very heavy alcohol, roasty, soy sauce a bit, liquor. Heavy roast and alcohol. Seems too much barrel aging tbh, too heavy, too strong.
