Description
Goose Island Beer Company began as a single brewpub opened in 1988 by John Hall. By 1995, John’s beer had become so popular that he decided to open a larger brewery, along with a bottling plant to keep up with demand. 1999 brought even more growth, along with an additional brewpub, and today, what was once one man’s pint-filled dream has become the Goose Island empire you know and love.

in 2011, Goose Island Beer Company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch InBev. Since then, we’ve continued to brew beer that we’re proud of and now we get to share these beers with our friends both nationwide and internationally.

Pours lightly hazy orange. The aroma is very fruity and full of mangoes. The flavor is of mango and resinous hops with a whole lot of malt. Full bodied. This one seems like more of a hazy IPA but it’s not marketed as such on the can/label.

Sampled from bottle at "Hooghe Noorden Tasting 2025". Opaque pitch black color, virtually no head. Aroma is malts, cocos, liquorice. Flavor is similar, with some soy sauce lightly. Nicely bitter, good balance, nicely suitable boozy. I like it.

Bottle.

A- Dark brown color, opaque liquid, light brown head.

A- Banana, chocolate, whisky, faint spice, brown sugar.

F- Banana, chocolate fudge, whisky, molasses, burnt sugars, slightly sweet.

O- For some reason my rating got deleted, wish I would've gotten a notification for whatever reason. Tough to remember exactly the notes I had on this one as it was literally a year ago. I did enjoy it and felt the flavors were pretty spot on. Solid variant.

On tap at Bottle Theory. Pours an oily black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has strong dark grains and rye with some barrel and a decent amount of roast. Flavor has lots of roast and rye with growing dark grain and barrel supporting.
