Description
UnBarred was established in 2014 from the shed of our founder and Head Brewer Jordan Mower. Born of a passion to brew uncompromising and exciting beer, our original flagship IPA won the Bev Robbins Award for the Best Sussex Beer in its first year of production. We soon outgrew the shed and moved onto gypsy brewing, enabling us to grow production and hone our craft, working together with other fabulous breweries.
Since establishing our taproom and brewery in the heart of Brighton in August 2019, we have doubled our production and embraced the Brighton community that we call home. Our core range is stocked nationwide, alongside ltd editions that embody the creativity, passion and freedom that have always defined our core ethos. We love to collaborate with other breweries that share those same values.
We’re inclusive, passionate and adventurous in everything we do, from our beer conception through to our design, brewing and welcoming taproom experience. To celebrate our roots, we love to work with local artists, independent businesses and fellow-creatives to showcase the best of the vibrant culture and boundless innovation of this beautiful city.

18/4/2020. Can from the Hand In Glove, Worcester. Pours slightly hazy pale amber with a just off-white head. Aroma has a nice subtle honey sweetness, is fruity, hoppy, toffee and malty, with honeycomb ice cream and a touch of chocolatey milk initially though that faded. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, average to soft carbonation. Enjoyed this one, nicely done.

440ml can. Hazy golden, white head. Aroma of sweet vanilla and coffee. Taste is sweet, almost like a custard donut rather than chocolate, unless they mean white chocolate as vanilla dominates the flavour, coffee is subtle at first and adds a little bitterness. Medium body. Overall a white stout that's actually good, I enjoyed this, basically a pastry stout but pale.

440ml can shared with Simon and Joel @ Tap and Can. Pours a disconcertingly golden colour, moderately hazy, white head. Aroma presents distinct doughnut, vanilla, white chocolate and coffee hints, which all come to fruition on the palate. Odd to have all these components together with stout-like roast suggestions and a chewy cookie sweetness. A bit all over the place, bonkers and novelty but well-executed.

440ml can bought at Unbarred Brewery & Taproom in Brighton. Shared with Finn back home. Pours a large white head, some of it remaining over a hazed golden body. Laces fine. Inviting smell of grass and passion fruits. Peachy flavours sustained by grapefruit. Mid-dry bitter fruity support to the ending. Medium bodied. Pretty alright. (Tromsø 19.02.2020).
