Description
The Magic Spells Brewery is an independent brewery located in the heart of East London. The brewery is owned and operated by Jas Hare and Stacey Ayeh. The brewery is committed to experimenting and developing craft beer styles, flavours and recipes whilst remaining faithful to traditional Craft beer ethos. We use traditional brewing methods and technologies and use only the finest ingredients and produce.

We started brewing some 3 years ago on a plucky ½ barrel kit in Epping in Essex, where we developed our Craft Lager and Magic Spells IPA. Originally brewing for friend’s parties, mate’s bands and of course ourselves, we learned the ropes working with an array of different people. We still have the ½ barrel kit set up at our new site in East London for experimenting but the core beers are now brewed on a 10 barrel kit, whilst we upscale to meet demand.

Bottle shared in London - purchased at Offy in Whitstable. Pours clear orange-gold with a creamy, white head. Grainy pale malts in the nose, citric hops, hay, lemon peel. Light sweet flavour with more crispy pale grains, old lemon peel, bitter hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation. OK balance in the finish, with more pale husky grains, lemon peel. Pretty so so.

Bottle shared on Level 42 14/11/2016. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. A hazed golden orange coloured pour with a thin white head. Aroma is semi sweet dirty grains, grainy grains, dirty orange. Flavour is composed of dirty grains, veg, pine. Chalky. Palate is semi sweet grainy, moderate carbonation, petrol. Dirty grains. Not terrible.

Bottle care of Leighton. It pours hazy golden with a medium white head. The aroma is sort of grainy, bready, porridge, orange peel, peach and light plastic. The taste is crisp, grainy, sweet, cereal, porridge, hay and bread with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate body. Basic stuff.
