500 ml bottle, batch #42, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.6%. Cloudy brownish-golden colour, moderate white head. Strong hoppy aroma with notes of pine and spruce, hints of grapefruit and earth. The flavour is refreshing for its strength, with pleasant citrussy notes first, followed by distinct piney / resinous notes and a fairly bitter finish and aftertaste.

On tap @ Kick. Unclear orange body with a rather small white head. Aroma has malt, citric fruit and banana/yeast. Flavor has some wheat beer with banana and bubblegum and some citric fruity hops with sweet malt, caramel and medium bitterness. Totally drinkable but doesn’t feel too balanced. Instead of the feeling of a wheat beer with refreshing hop flavor it gives me a feeling of a beer that’s trying to be both but ends up with none of both. Might be lesser sweet and more bitter - don’t know really.

Lovely cloudy orange golden color with a thick off white head. Nice lacing down the glass. Perfect start when you look at it. The aroma did not scare me either. Rich citric and mellow fruity. Mama mia hehe. Medium + body. Solid sweet balance at this high level of bitterness. Holy grapefruit juice. Power flavor de luxe. Nice tropical fruity back. The bitterness hangs in there for a while. Hitchiking to the stars and back. Love this one.

500 ml bottle, batch #43, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Hazy golden colour, moderate to low white head. Strong sweetish aroma with typical hefeweizen notes of ripe bananas, bubblegum and cloves, a hint of citrus. The mouthfeel is a bit thin. Slightly sweet flavour with banana and cloves again.

On tap at Kick. It’s an unclear orangey golden beer with a small, dense, white head. It’s quite citrusy on the nose, but bubblegum dominates. Some banana and lemon too. Wheat malt. It’s medium bodied and rather acidic feeling on the palate, quite dry. Nice carbonation. Orange peel, some lemon juice and malts in the flavor, with banana and some pale malts and a hint of caramel. Medium length finish. A refreshing one, but not a kind of beer I’ll have many of. 150310

Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, orange, citrus and grapefruit. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long very sweet malty and citrus fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. A fair bit to sweet for my liking

On tap @ Kick. Not a completely fair rating this as it was a damn fast beer while waiting for my bus, still had to take the opportunity. Hazy dark orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma had caramel malt but it’s mostly fruity, mild fruit and ripe fruit. Did not find much coffee in the aroma, more like chocolate. Flavor is malty, fruity and bitter, there is some coffee, not like strong roasted coffee – more the smooth mocha version. Fine body and quite strong in aftertaste (aftertaste still reminds while sitting in the bus finishing the rating). Have to try to sample this again another time.

Lovely inviting cloudy dark orange golden color with a thick off white head. Nice lacing. A very dominant coffee aroma with some hoppy and tropical notes. Thick fine body with a soft carbonation makes it easy to drink. Together with a fine bitterness that cover up the sweetness very well. Rich coffee, mild grapefruit hoppy and a bit tropical flavor. This was a very fresh example of this beer. I am definitely going to have more of this. And it will surely be different. So far I probably liked the first edition best. But I am not sure when have had this a bit later.

Bottle. An unclear brown beer with a small, dense, beige head. The aroma is a bit dull, but nice anyway, with coffee hints, roasted malts, some dark chocolate and caramel sauce. It’s dry on the palate, with roasted malts, caramel and dark chocolate. Hints of coffee and hoppy bitterness. Dry, medium bodied and pleasantly carbonated. Lasting finish. A bit dry this one I think, but it’s still tasteful. 150228
