Description
We opened our doors in Brixton in mid 2013 with the aim of teaching Londoners how to make beer. We have expanded operations at this site to offer up to 30 draught lines featuring our commercially available beers, exclusive nano brews and guest beers plus a large stock of cans and bottles to take home. We remain one of the very few venues in London to stock home brewers with hops, malt and yeast.

Bottle split at Bespin Base, W2, thanks to his Kempness, 10/06/15. Lightly hazed golden amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pine, mandarin, straw, peach, straw, citric peel. Taste comprises earthy mineral notes, melon, orange pith, lemon rind, juicy hop strokes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy hop rinse. Ok APA but lower end of the LAPA’s.

Bottle at Leighton’s place. Huge thanks to Leighton for this one. Mahogany brown coloured pour, hazed, thin off cream coloured head. Aroma is earthy grains, funky, peach melba, strawberry, pineapple. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, strawberry, light nutty toasted grains. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Lingering tangy citrus lemon. Good black ipa.

Bottle at Leighton’s place. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. Mahogany brown / reddy coloured pour with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is composed of light roast, toast, faint citrus, plastic, pine. Flavour is composed of nice sweet jammy fruit, faint roast, toast strawberry, pine. Palate is medium, moderate carbonation, light sticky hop. Good black ipa.

Little soap on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of nutty, brown bread, jammy, berry fruits, light citrus, grainy. Palate is light, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Sticky hop. Decent black ipa.

Bottle at Leighton’s place. Many thanks to Leighton for this one. Hazed golden / orange coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is semi sweet grains, juicy lemon, background tropical fruit, mango. Flavour is grainy, little oxidisaed grains, juicy orange, peel, tropical, dry finish. Palate is a little thin, grainy, moderate carbonation. Decent effort.

Bottle split at the Bespin cloud system, thanks to Lando Kemprissian, 10/06/15. Light black with a decent tan swirl and edgeing. Nose is juicy hops, red berry tunes, light charr, pine, hint of liquorice, dusty hop’s. Taste comprises liquorice, earthy hops, mineral streak, light spice, tangy dark fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok CDA.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the Lab. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head. The nose has some tangy citrus, burnt toast, cocoa, minerals. Light sweet flavor with hearty minerality, dry chocolate, scorched earth, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with heavy roast, bitter cocoa, roast, citrus rind. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is rich roast, stewed orange, tangerine, Irn Bru, dark chocolate, earthy and dirt. The taste is bitter, rich roast, earthy, coffee grounds, liquorice, ashy, charred wood, cocoa and pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Rather nice.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the LB Lab. Pours clear dark brown with a huge, billowing tan foam head. Good roasted malt aroma, baking cocoa, burnt line, orange rind, chocolate. Light-medium sweet flavor with rich chocolate character, hard roast, scorched earth, torched grass. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Well balanced finish, more rounded chocolate character, piney hops, some rindy citrus. Very nice beer.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours black with a thick tan head. The nose is rich roast, dark chocolate, liquorice, umami, burnt cake and some soapy citrus. The taste is soft, toasty, bitter, soapy citrus, orange rind, sherbet, liquorice, dark chocolate, cocoa and earth with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and decent carbonation. Not too shabby.
