Early American brewers adapted traditional European brewing techniques to the unique ingredients, climates, and tastes of the New World. At Telegraph Brewing Co., our beers are handcrafted in that same manner at our brewery in Santa Barbara, California. Making use of as many locally grown ingredients as we can, Telegraph's ales embody our philosophy that a local brewery should reflect the traditions of its region. Our goal is to produce uniquely American beer styles that are imbued with a spirit of invention and creativity, but always with a nod toward history.
In 2017 Utah-based Epic Brewing purchased Telegraph.

Sampled @ ChrisO Pre-GBBF Shindig. Murky yellow color, small to average sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste sourish, grapes, yoghurt, buttery, sour. Not good. At least I don’t like it at all! Yuk.

Draft pour to a tulip at the Hop and Hound. Pours a cloudy peach color with a quick fade head. Full profIle of fruit in the aroma and flavor. Melon, citrus, tropical. A little bit of everything. Sweet and tart battling it out throughout, but the sweetness is the last standing. Refreshing, juicy mango. Good summer beer.

375 c&c from Final Gravity. Pours coppery brown with a transient beige head. Aroma of tart cherry and wood. A little acidic. Med body or so. Flavor is tart cherry and wood, and it’s followed by a definite oxidation flavor. I’m betting it’s from a musty barrel. I like oxidation in moderation, but for those who don’t it’s likely to be off putting. Finishing tartly astringent. Cherry might really be other red berry. Quite nice IMHO.

Can, thanks Wolff. Clear golden with a large white head. Fresh and hoppy with grapefruit, malt and some caramel. Medium body and bitterness. A pleasant one.

Draft pour pint at The Collective. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizz head. Grainy, pils like aroma with some soft fruit. Orange fruit front, but isn’t entirely refreshing. Warming feel, with a grainy finish. Hop character late. Not bad.

473ml can on 2nd May 2016 in the sun on my daughters patio in California. Golden bodied beer with a snow white head that gave off some decent lacing. Hops all the way here, piney and tropical fruit esters in both the nose and taste, fairly bitter and obviously hop centric it however was balanced by a decent malt undertone with a mini sweet base for the hops to play along.

Precious Metal, Brooklyn can: pours light copper with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit and malts. Taste is grapefruit and west coast but maltier than what is generally done in the modern tropical IPAs. Pretty nice.
