Well folks, it is the end of an era. With our lease due early next year and the rising cost of production we have been pondering our future. As luck would have it someone has come along and offered to buy us out. We have decided to take up their offer so over the next few weeks the brewery kit will be moving to West Wales.

Cask at Henry Potts, Chester (not listed on Ratebeer yet). Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is full of roasted malts which continue as the mainstay in the mouth. There’s also molasses, liquorice and cola plus hints of dandelion and burdock. Finish is dry and slightly sweet – this is really good !

440ml can from, I think, Stori Bala. Pours a misty yellow, small fluffy white head. Aroma of grassy citrus. Super fresh crisp citrus to taste, mild sorachi notes. Nice and sessionable. Another good one from these guys.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal beige head. Has a strong aroma with coffee, chocolate and roasted malts prominent. Mouthfeel is slightly sweet and creamy, Flavours are mainly roast malts and dark fruits on a caramel base. Later on coffee and aniseed feature, together with hints of molasses. Chocolate and coffee in the finish. This is excellent – had it before but don’t remember it being so good.
