Established in 2009
Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.
8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.
After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

A banger of an imperial stout. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, molasses, sugar and a little coffee. Some chicory taste in the mouth, with a beautiful sweet caramel overlay and that hint of coffee finishing it off. Can from Swords at Vic Market.

Can from Bottle Shop while camping on Sharp Island. Drank from can. Chocolate, slightly syrup, hard to taste miso but maybe adds umami? Palate slightly too sticky for me. Not bad, wouldn’t get again.

Can, bb 1/24. Nearly opaque yellowish orange with a white head. 3+ Aroma of a melange of fruit - pear, berries, old kiwi fruit - grain, nettles. A bit haphazard. And so is the taste - lots of mainly fruity hops but not arrayed to any great effect. Slightly astringent, low bitterness. On special so perhaps past its best.

Draft at Orh Gao Taproom, Singapore. Poured almost black in colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, earthy, light vanilla. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, rich, herbal, earthy, light liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Quite a disappointment I must say. Lacked body and sweetness. The description says full bodied and bursting with luscious chocolate? There really was no chocolate. This is perhaps one of those commercial descriptions that was written before the beer was actually brewed, or maybe something went wrong in transit? Either way this wasn’t great.

Draft at Orh Gao Taproom, Singapore. Poured a hazy yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt and tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a fresh, crisp, juicy mango passionfruit, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Can. Clear pale gold with a white head that hangs around a little while. Hints of richness in the bread and hay aroma. Doesn't quite follow through to the palate but it's clean if a little thin with moderate spiced bitterness.

Can from HavnensVinOgTobak. Pours opaque black with medium dark brown head. Aroma is intense roasted malt, freshly ground coffee, toffee, raisins, vanilla, prunes, oak, campfire smoke, Swedish cinnamon buns and hints of matches. Taste is very sweet, medium to very bitter and light acidic. Body is creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long, intense and mostly sweet with intense notes of roasted malt, ground coffee, toffee, raisins, cinnamon, cardamom, prunes, oak, vanilla, mint and hints of pepper. I couldn't taste the poppy seeds, but despite it is a very well made beer
