Description
8 Wired is a micro brewing company based in Warkworth, New Zealand.
Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.
8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.
After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

Interesting balance, definitely has some noble hop floral peppery notes with a bit of NZ tropical vinous green. Clean and to style. LCI

(Bottle, 0.5l - 2014 vintage, at Pikkulintu Kontula, 20240316) The beer poured golden and brilliantly clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, tartness, wood and lightly marmalade. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, vinous notes, grapes, wood, tartness, sourness and bitterness. Aftertaste had wood, grapes and bitterness. Pleasant. Very different take on sour beer.

(Can) Good looking beer. Pours black with good tan head which disappears rather quickly. Aroma of dark roast grain with chocolate and berries. Medium bodied, smooth with modest fine carbonation. Lovely taste. There’s plenty of berries, joined by chocolate and a creaminess. There’s some subtle sweetness and notes of burnt sugar bitterness in the finish. Very enjoyable.

(Can) Pours very dark brown with small brown head. Pleasant aroma of toasted malt and chocolate. Full smooth body with modest very fine carbonation. Pleasant rich taste. There’s a bitterness throughout the palate that hover between very dark chocolate and burnt sugar, maybe with hints of soy. There’s some balancing dark toffee sweetness, and nice chocolatey notes. Pleasant enough but the balance isn’t quite tight for my palate.

On tap at Garden Path - Bellingham, pours black with a large tan head. Aroma is full of roasted barley, plenty of earthy hops, and some cocoa. Flavour is more like a classic RIS — with loads of roasted malt, plenty of hops, and a touch of espresso and cocoa. Rich, roasty, nicer hopped with a creamy mouthfeel. Excellent.

A banger of an imperial stout. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, molasses, sugar and a little coffee. Some chicory taste in the mouth, with a beautiful sweet caramel overlay and that hint of coffee finishing it off. Can from Swords at Vic Market.
