Description
8 Wired is a micro brewing company based in Warkworth, New Zealand.
Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.
8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.
After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

440ml can as part of a delivery from New Zealand Beer Collective and drunk at home. Blacker than black and viscous with a small ring of khaki head. Massive aroma of vanilla-laden caramel, espresso beans and maybe a tiny bit of liquorice. Taste is so, so sweet, like cold oversugared coffee (but still somehow really amazing) and some light toasty bitterness in the finish. Full, full body with light carbonation. Works incredibly well.

Can. Cloudy pale amber with a cm of white head. Aroma of mandarin, pine, Australian pineapple, light biscuit. Light bodied and dryish with more crackery malt than guessed, fruit that starts sweet and gradually leans astringent. Lowish bitterness with some earthy herbs. Odd.

Aromas are lots of roast, molasses, raisins, prunes, dark malt. Flavors are similar to nose, very well balanced with just right bitter to sweet and carbonation. Easy drinking and alcohol as well hidden. Very nice beer.

440ml can as part of a delivery from New Zealand Beer Collective, drunk at home. It pours very dark brown, almost opaque with a decent-sized khaki head. Coffee, of course, dominates the aroma, along with some gardenia and a bit of chocolate malt. Sweet taste with more creamy coffee and a bit of caramel syrup, followed by an almost plummy sour/bitterness. Light hop in the finish with coffee and caramel still swirling around in the aftertaste. Enjoyable and doesn’t overdo the coffee.

Draft 4 oz pour at Chuck's CD, which is just about all I could probably handle of this one. Dang! Huge beer here. Jet black pour with a full coat of tan lacing. Coffee and booze nose. Just know this one is intense from the aroma from a distance. Flavor is a dense chocolate, espresso, and a ripe banana. Borderline syrupy. Thick constant, but its cool on the finish, and the boozy palate fades quick, and leaves a cocoa and coffee ground. Intense big stout, but less than it needed to be. Thing I'm most thrilled about is that this didn't need any junk in it to be good. Take a stout, triple it, put it on one glass, and call it good. I enjoyed this, but I'd certainly need to be in the mood for this.

440ml can delivered from New Zealand Beer Collective and drunk at home.Light gold and clear with a small ring of white head. Aroma is very light, I'm getting muted citrus peel with just a hint of celery. Taste is more engaging with both the lemon/lime sourness and the intense celery salt hitting you straight on. It's a very light and airy beer, with fairly full carbonation lifting the residually salty finish. Gorgeous little drink.
