Bottle thanks to Kenny at level 42. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, piney varnish, rich chocolate cake, toffee and some berry fruits. The taste is smooth, roasted malt, cocoa nibs, berry, fruit compote, peppery spice, light ash and charred wood with a dry, charred finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent cda.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Kenneth. Pours clear brown wi a frothy, tan head. Nicely round aroma, with toasted brown bread, suggestions of cocoa, burnt pin. Light to medium sweet flavour with dry roast, mellow cocoa. Rindy citrus, a little bitter pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes dry, ashy roast, baking cocoa, toasted pine. Enjoyable CDA.

Leeds Beer Festival 2016. Black coloureds ale. Has a light roasted malt aroma and taste, with a floralness that is dominant in its character.
