Description
We are Boutilliers, a small brewery based around the back of a farm shop in Faversham (Macknade fine foods if you were the curious sort.) Originally founded by 2 former uni buds, Boutilliers is now run by Rich, a former english teacher, and Drew, professional loud mouth. Our core focus is to brew creative styles and innovate with the resources we have to hand. When possible we like to use produce from local companies including tea and hops but we’ve not limited ourselves to this philosophy. Beer is an infinitely sprawling landscape with an equal number of potential possibilities, we don’t wish to simply make the same beer every time we brew, we want to explore, we want to play, we want our beer to be fun.

330ml bottle – Pours an almost clear pale gold colour with an average sized, mostly lasting, foamy white head. The aroma is saison type yeasty, sweet malts and grassy herbal hops. A moderately sweet taste, lovely saison yeasty, spicy flavours with some light dry pear and a hoppy bitter finish. Clean and refreshing with a lot of flavour for under 4% ABV.

Bottle from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Aroma had spice, citrus and the green tea there in a damp way. Opaque copper gold. Thick foamy fluffy white head. Medium bitter with a sour citrus. Underlying spice and herbs. A touch of smooth fruity sweetness. The tea then really comes through as I drink more. Light bodied. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Crisp. Not shy in the flavour stakes.

Hazy dark gold beer, no real head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, decent fine carbonation. Soft sweetish malts, decent creamy vibe. Smooth piney hops. A mild spicy ripe orange and mandarin. It's all overlaid by a large helping of tinned mango. Smooth and semi dry finish leaves a mild spicy linger. An okay dipa, quite drinkable. Perhaps a bit obvious in showing it's hand. It's a considerable shortfall when compared to the good stuff, ie other DIPAs. Which is legion at the moment. Overall - quite drinkable
