Description
The Hop Shed is an award winning brewery based on a hop farm in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. We set up the brewery in a converted chicken shed here on the farm. This inspired the name of our brand and beers, which are all named after breeds of chickens.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2023, day 3 - Hackney. Pours clear honey-gold with a great, frothy white head. Light sweet flavour with notes of sun-kissed pale malts, citrus peel, light grass. Light bodied with fine carbonation; excellent condition. Well balanced finish, more pleasant citrusy hops, pale bready malts. Highly drinkable.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Almost clear burnished gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin malts, reasonably sweet. Ripe citrus fruits, mandarin marmalade and a touch of floral peel. Semi dry finish. Tastes like a million Camra offerings but with slightly better than average condition.

Bottle at home, picked up at a farm shop in Worcestershire, 15/10/23. Clear golden copper with a white cap that stays on as a thin film, hardly what one would describe as a blonde appearance wise! Nose is grass, lemon rind, hint of grapefruit zest, straw. Taste comprises orange peel, airy malts, citric tinged straw, melon, light floral whisper, toasted grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad.

Cask, half-pint at Lower Red Lion. Shared with Finn. Clear amber body, naked surface, poor lacing. Moderate smell of fruity caramel. Blended taste of mild caramel malts and dried fruits. Distant malt-fruity bitterness to the finish. Smooth on the swallow. Easy going. (St Albans, 27.09.2023).

Bottle at home, picked up from a farm shop in Worcestershire, 30/07/23. Clear golden with a just off white covering that thins to edging and a swirl. Nose is grains, hedgerow, light biscuit notes, malts, straw, lemon nip. Taste comprises pale malts, straw, grains, biscuit, stewed fruits, light breads. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a modest bitter edge. Passable pale ... rather overly malty and lacking refreshment.
