Description
Oldskool likes to brew beers in a new format. A focus on old beertypes with pure love for the classic & modern hops. This combination will create balanced beers that ought to be enjoyed slowly. At first the focus will be on old beertypes with a love for the German and British hops. The main goal of Oldskool is to educate beerlovers, breweries, pub owners and liquor shop owners with the message that it is possible to brew great quality beer with the right people and the right ingredients. For regular consumers we like to point out there is a lot more out there than a regular Duvel or an artificially sweetened Bockbeer.

Hence all OLDSKOOL beers are brewed: According to the Bayerisch Reinheitsgebot, without any additional sugars/ spices / acid; At a selected Dutch location; Brewed by a different expert every time; With the recipe, enthusiasm and beerlove from one of the youngest International Beersommeliers in the world, Dennis Kort.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Joe! Pours a clearish copper gold with a finger of soapy foam that lingers. Lovely yeast driven nose with dried banana, caramel, floral hops and light notes of corriander. Perfect carbonation and paired well with my gyoza as a palate cleanser. Light malty sweetness with floral light peppery hops on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Triple Sec on 16 Feb 2019 at 17:35 - Score: 7

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 23 Aug 2018) Cloudy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, pineapple and citrus peel. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, lemon peel, pineapple and a balanced citric bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and refreshing. Nice one.

Bottle from hetbiermoment.nl. Pours dark amber with beige head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor is sweet, bitter, sour, oak, vanilla, wheat, fruits. Finish is really oaky. Overall: way too much barrel and too little of base beer, still I don't mind this. --- Beer merged from original tick of Wood You Go B*CK Yourself!? Rum 2017 on 01 Dec 2018 at 23:30 - Score: 6. Thanks to SinH4! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ Lustenau, Austria. Amber brown going to black, creamy tanned head. Some oxidation in the nose, sweet bark & calvados. Taste is caramel, sugar, candy, low oxidation, some vanilla, oak, bit simple, almost neutral but nice with a dash of calvados, basic, raisin, not super clear bock-like in base anymore but nice.

Bottle, many thanks Benzai! Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is rum, chocolate, light raisins, apple peel, vanilla. Taste is the same, a bit woody. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. Quite fun!

Bottle @ home. Opaque orange to reddish color, full sized white to off-white head. Aroma is wheat, blossomy / floral hops. Flavor is wheat, sweetish hops, again a bit floral, but also a somewhat unpleasant unfresh bitterness in there. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Hmm not as good as some of the others from this series imo but that may simply be the hops used.
