500 ml bottle. Dark reddish brown body with a big beige head that lasts. Aroma of roasted malt, liquorices, some vanilla and peat, there is a light, but pretty distinct Islay aroma here. Flavor has roasted malt, peat, tar and smoke. A relatively light body makes this quite an odd beer, the aroma built up a certain expectation that the flavor did not deliver. This is not a balanced beer, but tasty and easy to drink. Still I see this as an experiment and enjoyed it as that.

500ml bottle conditioned ale, unpasteurized and not filtered, bought at Barley Wine in Copenhagen for Easter enjoyment back home. Opaque, dark orange body topped by a persistent off-white head. Herbal, oily hops and dried fruits, like apricot, in aroma followed by the taste of blended fruit acidity and mid-sweet malts. Integrated yeast and alcohol. Firmly bitter finish. Medium bodied. Fresh and dry o to the palate. Fits the season (with lunch at home in Tromsø, 03.04.2010).

75cl bottle hazy amber, smooth beige head. dry dusty faint flowery aroma, faint fruity aroma, hibiscus, very faint grassy, very faint hay, very faint honey. mild yet rather complex dry aroma. flavor is dry, grassy, faint dark fruity (not sweet dark fruits), bitter grapefruit peel (almost like tonic water). again pretty complex yet mild. Nice and interesting mild beer, lots to explore, even though it doesn’t taste especially good.
