Pours amber with a quickly fading head.Faint aroma, some vegetal notes, soft malt, cardboard and grainy notes.Nice sweet malt as a flavour, but it doesn’t last long and the extremely low bitterness makes for a very weak finish.Needs more carbonation. Feels watery.

Bottle. Orangish amber with a small white head that lasts OK. Modest aroma is fruity with citrus, stone and slight tropical notes, a little caramel. Slightly creamy texture, medium bodied. Sweet with stone and slight tropical fruit and caramel, a little vague citrus, moderate bitterness is slightly peppery at the end. Sound but uneventful.

From a 330ml bottle on 18/11/2012. Pours a clear golden with a small head that disappears quickly. Has very little nose, with just some very slight mineral and grain notes. The flavour is a little better but still quite uninspiring with a hint of sweet citrus and a very mild bitterness. Pretty bland stuff (go the Monkey’s Fist Pale Ale in this series, which is much better).

Bottle. Amber with a small off-white head. Grainy aroma with some light citrus and grapes. A little watery. Mild bready sweetness, some orange and grass, decent bitterness. OK, just rather thin.

From a 345ml bottle on 28/10/2012. Pours a clear light golden with very little head. Has a light fruity, slightly floral aroma. The flavour is mainly sweet citrus, stone and tropical fruits (orange, apricot and mango), which is set offf by a medium bitterness. This is nothing remarkable, but is none the less quite a drinkable APA, which I could enjoy over a session. Fat Yak and JS 150 Lashes are probably the nearest reference points, but this is more enjoyable out of the bottle IMO.

Bottle. Not much to say about this one. Deep gold with moderate carbonation. Sweetish malts, a touch of grassy hop and slightly bitter finish.

On tap at the Sail & Anchor, Fremantle April 2012. Jet black with a slight, off-white head. Sweet porridge oats and dark fruits, leading to some milk chocolate and a slightly roast finish. Ok, if a bit cold.

At the Sail & Anchor, Fremantle April 2012. The cheapest beer of my Australian (at 7 Dollars). Utterly inoffensive, and certainly a slight improvement on the likes of Hahn.
