Description
Since 2008, Sandstone Brewery has been committed to producing authentic and unique beers that push the boundaries of regular brewing styles and categories. We’re proud to serve our customers with only the best, continually crafting each taste until it’s exactly right.

First brewed 21st October 2008. A 4BBL PBC Brewery Installations Ltd plant is used. The brewery was taken over by new owners in 2013. The existing portfolio of beers was retained with a number of new beers added.

Sandstone Brewery has helped to restore a traditional craft to the town of Wrexham. We use only the finest ingredients in our Ales with speciality grains from Britain, Germany and Belgium. Hops are sourced worldwide, allowing us a full palate of flavours to experiment with, creating both traditional and contemporary styles of beers.

Cask at Crown Hotel, Nantwich. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. There is a sweet aroma with caramel prominent, but also hints of tangerine and citrus. In the mouth it is quite bitter with a creamy texture. Flavour is mixed hops, marmalade, pine and traces of citrus and underlying malts. The finish is quite bitter with sharp and sticky hints as well. This isn’t at all bad.

Oldham Beer Festival 2025, beer number 11 of the afternoon. Black, coconut heavy aroma and taste, although I guess this could also be viewed as marshmallow and liquorice. Has a relatively easy smooth texture for its strength.

Bottle from Chester Beer and Wine. Cloudy gold with small white head, little retention. Aroma is floral with a light sour note, some toffee and bread. Taste is somewhat astringent, grainy, floral, toasty finish. Light bodied and flat as a pancake. Poor.
