Tap @ El Mariachi, Ålborg. Slightly unclear pale golden body with a medium sized lacing white head. Aroma has some pale malt with citric peel, yeast and slightly acidic fruit or berries. Taste is surprisingly refreshing, clean pale malt that feels a bit sweet and dry at the same time, hint of wheat, some citric fruit, slightly sour citric peel, light acidic red berries and mild spicy yeast. Medium body and refreshing in aftertaste as well. Nothing amazing but a lot more interesting that expected from a Mexican witbier. Not true to style, but in a positive way.

Bottle I brought back from CDMX, pours an oily, thick black with some khaki head. Nose has a lot, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, hazelnut, molasses. Flavor has caramel and bourbon out the gate, then the vanilla and coconut come, almost a coconut creme, chocolate syrup rounds things out before the spice takes over, raisins and some pepper at the end. Lots of complexity. Off dry finish, but damn it's smooth. The spice helps with the sugar and the alcohol. 9% is also perfect for this style. Damn.
