Description
There have been many changes since Gordon Rich started pressing cider apples at Mill Farm, although essentially the production of the juice is still traditional.

We are a family run business producing traditional farmhouse cider and farm pressed apple juice, with locally harvested Somerset apples.

A clear deep golden colour, no head. Aroma of sweet ripe apples, sulfur, funk. Taste of sweet dry apples, sulfur, juicy tart finish.

Growler from LCB. Light hazed dark gold with some light bubbles. Aroma has dry fruity apples and plenty of barnyard. Taste has a nicely balanced fruity apple, barnyard, wood, light cider vinegar. Quite smooth and dry but not to sandpaper quality like some. Very good cider.

330ml panda from LCB. Clear light amber, no head, faint carbonation. Aroma of caramel, musty apple juice, wood. Taste starts sweet with a tangy musty apple, light vinous, wood, barnyard, semi-drying finish. Smooth medium body. Good cider.

Bottle from Scrattings. Clear gold with brief fizzy white top. Aroma of musky stewed apple juice, apple skins, vanilla. Taste of sweet apples, light musky funk, vanilla, floral resin, modest bitterness in the finish, semi-dry. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. A nice tasty solid session strength cider.

Bottle from Scrattings. Clear dark gold, brief white fizz. Aroma of apple juice and skins, barnyard, bittersweet notes. Taste of mellow bittersweet apple juice, a little woody, drying finish. Not huge in charactor but nice and sessionable.

Bottle from Scrattings. Clear glowing gold, brief fizz on top, bubbles around the edges, looks well carbonated. Aroma of sweet fruity apple juice and pith, some brown sugar and barnyard musk. Taste of tangy apple juice and core, light blossom, long but mellow bitterness finishing semi-dry. Medium bodied, smooth oiliness on palate, fine carbonation. Really nice balance to this one and quite tasty.

Bottle from Scrattings. Clear gold, brief fizz, visible slow moving carbonation. Fleshy apple aroma, very floral/aromatic blossom, sweet. Taste is sweet, floral, tangy apple, moderate bitterness, semi-dry crisp finish. An aromatic sessionable cider.

Golden amber with a limited head.
Nose is light funk, tangy apples, caramel, hedgerow.
Taste comprises bitter sweet apples, hay bale, straw, tannins.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close.
Not bad.
