Bottle shared during the Cad’s 10th anniversary bash - Clerkenwell, London. One from me! Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds some dusty milk chocolate. Medium sweet flavor, chalky, with dry and bitter baking cocoa. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dry and bitter on the finish. Lots of dry, ashy baking cocoa character. OK.

Bottle from Fresh and Easy in Napa, CA. Pours translucent gold with a slight, foamy white head. Aroma is orange. Med body with rather strong carbonation. Flavor is orange, maybe even zest, and wheaty. Not very malty. It’s drier than not, and it’s sort of a one note wit. Yet the orange is so strong that it works. Pool beer.

Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, fine carbonation. Light pale malts with a modicum of creamy sweetness. Slightly bitter floralness leads to a mild orange and a trace of tropical fruits. Mild hop spice and bitterness before a dry finish. Grapefruit peel linger. A tad dry but clean, well balanced and drinkable.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney hoppy aroma, fruity hints of pineapple. Taste is piney and bitter hoppy, hints of pineapple, weak pale malty background; minimally mineral and chalky finish. Quite nice, the 3.8% abv correspond the the relatively weak malty backbone.
