GBBF Day 3. Almost opaque dark brown beer. Small pale tan head. Palate is surprisingly light and semi dry. Rich malt, touch of roast. A little unsweet dark chocolate turning to dark fruits. Whisper of coffee. Finishes rich and semi dry with a light floral note. Good stuff!

Cask-conditioned at the Dorset & Wiltshire beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol 7/1/2013. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of dark chocolate, caramel and roasted malts. Very easy drinking for the strength, with more fruit, oak and a roasty finish. Very good.

Cask at the Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Tidy mid tan head. Smooth palate, a little dry. Good dark malt - a little spicy with traces of coffee and bubblegum. Semi dry finish, not bad and did a good job of warming me up!
