Bottle at the radikal whale slaying. Thnx to Eric. Pours black, good grey head. Smell is thick, oily, sweet, dark malts. intense. Taste is full, sweet, very damn complex, high intensity, some sweetness from the honey, vanilla. some notes of coffee, some chocolate. Very damn nice once again. Impressive ! touch of a peppery note as well, but the honey contradicts it so nicely... truly great !

(On tap @ Bottlecraft Little Italy, SD, April 2/17) Proud murky medium orange with a small white head and spotty lace. Aroma is nice and dank, skunky weed, mango, pungent passion fruit-like notes, mandarin, something like a jackfruit? A little sweet malt. Flavour is leafy, dank weed type stuff, oranges, mango, moderate juice, light floral, a little spiciness to the hop profile, just off dry. Malt is present but doesn’t intrude. Moderate bitterness on the finish. Medium full body with soft carb. Feels a bit like hop puree, it’s nice but I’d like it to be a little juicier and brighter to be super.

(On tap @ Hamilton’s Tavern, SD, April 4/17) Pours light gold, fairly hazy, with a tiny white head (dirty glass action). Aroma is bright and citrusy, lots of grapefruit, some mango, light orange, a bit dank and floral. Flavour of moderately dank leafy hops, pine, grapefruit, mango, citrus peels, moderate sweet pale malts, fairly juicy grapefruit in the back end with a light to moderate bitterness. Medium body, slightly above average carbonation. Quite high drinkability, well balanced, not the most juicy but very nice modern IPA.

(On tap @ Stone Liberty Station, SD, April 4/17) Pours black with a small pale tan head. Aroma of sweet strawberry syrup juxtaposed with powdery roasty dark malt, cacao, vanilla, relatively dry on balance. Flavour is a bit sweeter upfront, strawberry, some chocolate syrup and caramel, light vanilla note, dry roast towards the middle, some berry seeds, dry and toasty, with lingering fruit. A hint of alcohol. Medium bodied. Slightly above average carb. Dominated by the strawberry and cacao additions as you might expect, but it’s pretty tasty and not a pure sugar bomb like it could easily be.
