Cask@The Cask Pub And Kitchen. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is wood, mild sulphur, some grass and herbs. Flavour is fruits, toffee, caramel, mild grassyness as well as some slight vegetably notes. Quite dry palate.

From cask at Wenlocks Arms. Pours clear and golden deep amber to maghogany brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and slight breadish. Dark malty flavoured, light fruity and with a slight sweet impression. Rather dry bitter and roasted malt. Lasting breadish impression and bitter to citric hops intermixed with this. Ends dry.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a fully gone head. Aroma is grapefruity and strong peachy. Dry phenolic. Dry fruity, malty and phenolic flavoured. Dry malty and slight bitter finish.

An earnest brew served up at GBBF ’10, very important I find. Very dark brown pour with a beige head. Coffee, caramel, malty nose. Rich flavours of chocolate, (camp)coffee and toffee. Very smooth. Slight bitterness in the finish. Good stuff.

Cask, gravity at The White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks, 30.07.10 Talk about saving the best till last, this was a cracker. I came back the following day and sadly it was already gone and yet it hadn’t even been put on until gone seven that night. Chuffed to see that someone else really liked this. Pours gold with a white bubbly head. The bitterness streaks across the tongue, its a real tongue lasher. The aroma is good, snappy and citrussy. Some pithiness in the mouth, the bitterness is always there but well contained, although slightly numbing on the tongue, lovely beer. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen on 31 July 2010. Clear, dark brown with small grey foam head. Aroma of sweet fruits/fruitcake, burnt roasted malts in main kick with tinges of smokiness, and a bittersweet slightly smoky finish. Mouthfeel is smooth to light. A delicious mild, worth seeking out.

Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen, London on 28th July 2010. Clear gold with off white froth head giving full lacing as it rapidly lowers. Hoppy, grassy aroma followed by an exquisite burst of grapefruit and grassy herbiness with a hint of delicate cigar smoke. The finish, initially grapefruit-citric becomes increasingly bitter, on a smooth to light mouthfeel. This was nectar and I went back to the bar for seconds! Worth seeking out.

Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen, London on 28th July 2010. Clear amber with thin off white froth giving part lacing. Aroma quite sweet, malty and a little yeasty. Very bitter grassy hop kick rounded by notes of biscuit malt, and a long lasting, very satisfying bitter finish. A zingy, slightly saline mouthfeel. Exquisite.

Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen on 28th July 2010. Crystal clear copper with thin offwhite head of foam offering full lacing. Sweet, malty aroma; caramel and berry fruits in the kick alongside some bitterness, but the meeting of the two is not harmonious. Medium to short bittersweet finish, although this lengthens and becomes drier late on. Textured, light mouthfeel.

Cask at the Southampton Arms on 20th July 2010. Gold with thin lacing head. Rounded, citric hop, touch of grass on tongue; hoppiness lingers in the aftertaste on a smooth, round, light mouthfeel. Pleasant ale.
