Description
Mighty Oak Brewing Company was founded by John Boyce in Brentwood in Essex in 1995 with brewing commencing in 1996. It moved to the town of Maldon in January 2001, and set up in the West Station Yard industrial area, once a major local industrial area with its own railway branch line to Witham.

The brewery makes mostly ale and exports these throughout Essex, London, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Kent. Many of the brewery's products are available to buy privately in different size plastic bladders up to keg size.

Cask in the CASK Pub & Kitchen, June 2010. Clear amber with a cream white head. Richly hoppy aroma with a touch of grapefruit and a grassy kick, just a pinch of salt on the tongue (lovely) and an exquisite hopp fruity finish on a slightly saline mouthfeel. Superb.

Cask-conditioned at the Cask & Kitchen, London 5/06/10. Pale gold with a slight white head. Hoppy grapefruit aroma. Flavour had more of the same with a touch of sweet malt and dry finish. Good.

Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, 02-06-10 Pours dark brown with light beige head. Aroma is sweet, with caramel and soft dark sugars showing. Taste is also a little sweet, some malty digestive biscuit taste and with the same dark sugars again, there is a little bitterness, nice mild. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Cask (handpump) @ Wenlock Arms, 26 Wenlock Road, London, Greater London England N1 7TA.Clear dark dark brown color with a small to average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, toffee, coffee notes, light nesquick - cacao - choco. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20091228]

Cask at the Red Lion, Histon. An attractive bright mahogany colour with a reddish glint and a cream head; fruit malt aroma; smooth and soft malt flavours with a touch of licorice. An excellent mild.

Cask (handpump) @ Wenlock Arms, 26 Wenlock Road, London, Greater London England N1 7TA.Clear medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, citrus, orange. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, fresh. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100102]

Cask by handpump at Leyton Orient Supporter’s Club on 1st April 2010. Gold with a white part-lacing head. Floral hop and herb aroma. Initial champagne kick with floral notes. Excellently hoppy afterwards with an increasingly bitter finish. Lightly textured mouthfeel.

Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms. Gold, thin white head. Grassy sherberty hop aroma. Carries into the body and finish in terms of the grassiness. Lovely hops. Really good and refreshing.
