The Pied Bull is proud to have the only micro-brewery within the City Walls of Chester. Our keg and cask beers are all hand crafted by our award-winning master brewer, Richard Sedgewick, who selects hops and malts from all over the world to create a range of stunning beers that cover all types of real ale. From traditional bitters, Pale ales, IPAs, Red ales and Porters, we’re sure you’ll find something to wet your whistle!

Cask (gravity) @ 31th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2014, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Pied Bull Black Bull ].Clear dark red - black brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark roasted, light coffee and chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark roasted, sweet roasted, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141204]

Gravity cask at Rail Ale ’16, 20/05/16. Light black with a moderate tan head. Nose is roast malt, chocolate, earthy fruits. Taste comprises bitter roast, cocoa powder, coffee tickle, charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough stout.

Cask at Chesterfield Rail Ale Jolly with RB crew; dark opaque brown pour with a thin beige head, aroma has some robust malts along with dark fruits, taste has sticky dark molasses, dark malts, sweet chocolate, good.

Cask (handpump) @ Crafty Crow, 102 Friar Lane, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire England NG1 6EB. [ As Pied Bull Bull’s Hit ].Unclear - hazy matt medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sour malt, light to moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, fruity, sour milk, nutty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. [20141012]
