The Pied Bull is proud to have the only micro-brewery within the City Walls of Chester. Our keg and cask beers are all hand crafted by our award-winning master brewer, Richard Sedgewick, who selects hops and malts from all over the world to create a range of stunning beers that cover all types of real ale. Cask at the Pied Bull; clear golden amber pour with a creamy white head, aroma has roasted malt and candied fruits, taste has malt action along with some stewed fruits, light vegetation, ok.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Pale golden-amber with a small head. Has plenty of fruitiness with a light citrus background.

Dark caramel brown, slight haze, dense off white head
Aroma of soft caramel malts, very soft dark fruits, faint aroma
Taste of caramel malts, dark fruits, some roast, odd flavour in there, medicinal, nope, poor
Palate - Medium body, soft sweet. Finish - odd medicinal linger, bitter, dryish finish
Overall - Poor. Only had a few sips out of a half....must have been a dodgy batch looking at the other reviews here

Cask @ Pied Bull, Chester [270115]
Golden amber, clear, thin dense white head
Aroma of soft fruits, light caramel, some creamy toffee
Taste of soft fruits, creamy caramel toffee which tastes a bit odd, some dry bitter hops
Palate - Medium body, bitter, some sweet toffee. Finish is too dry and harsh bitter.
Overall - Not keen on this. Over dry and bitter finish.

Dark golden colour. Flavour is a bit nutty and has some boiled vegetables. Smooth and creamy texture.

Cask @ The Angel, Manchester. Black with a very thin off-white head. Has an almost luxuriously smooth texture with plenty of roasted malt in aroma and taste that’s maybe slightly burnt, with a long finish that lingers in the palate.

Manchester Beer Festival 2015. Black with a thin off-white head. Has a full roasted aroma and taste which is slightly burnt. The coffee is prevalent in its aftertaste.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’14, day 1, 02/12/14. Light black with moderate tan edgeing. Nose is light roast, burnt toffee, brown sugars, charr, faint liqourice. Taste comprises sweet notes, dark toffee fudge, toasted brown sugar, cocoa rub. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, no head. Palate is light and dry with mild crispness. Very mild dark malts, light lactose like sweetness. Dry estery sweetness. Light dry finish. Fine but just. Another. Porter.
