Description
We are seven actual brothers of the McAvoy family from Salford who love beer (we also have four sisters who love gin). It was our Dad who first got us into beer – he used to home brew when we were kids and so for us, there’s a lovely nostalgia in everything about beer. We brew our beer in Salford, where we also have our Tap Room – you can come over and visit any time!

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers! Aroma is peanut brittle, biscuit, chocolate cake, cocoa powder and vanilla. Not getting a lot of nut on the taste, but that is fine with me. Full bodied, sweet, no carbonation. Just very good.

Can from LCB, consumed 6 months still in date. Misty gold with thin white head, some retention. Aroma has that lemon, lime, grapefruit and pine - quite punchy. Taste follows - its citric, pine noted, easy drinking with lots of fine carbonation. Very sessionable which I like.

Can from LCB, 5 months still in date. Misted gold with small white top, some retention. Aroma of honey, biscuit, very light pale malt and hops. Honeycomb really does come though in the flavour, some biscoff, pale malt. Light bodied but is quite slick and crisp. Modest bitterness. Quite moreish although it does irk slightly that a lot of flavoured pales tone down the hops significantly rather than try and find hops that compliment the adjunct.

Can from Beer52. Pours nicely black with small beige head. The dry hopping hits the nose first - picking up citrus and mint followed by a roastiness. Taste of stone fruits, tangerine, mint, roasted malt, long bitterness. Light to medium bodied, zingy carbonation. Far too hoppy to be classified as a stout by the brewery - this is more of a Black IPA which I'm very happy with as I haven't had one for a while. Very enjoyable.

Keg at the Stranger's Tavern just before the river in the norther part of Norwich city centre not too far away from some of the historic buildings found along it. Hazy golden with a head. Easy session although slightly weak for it. Mild sweet and sugary tropical fruit is available here.

Can from Seven Brothers Beer House, Media City. Purple-pink in colour. Low-sourness sour, but quite a low red berry character and flavour too despite an appearance that would suggest otherwise.
