Good, this tastes a lot like Alaskan Smoked Porter that I had earlier in the night.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a translucent brown color with a big rocky tan head. Sweet roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt flavor has notes of cocoa and coffee. Some smoky notes as well. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Spicy hop finish is subdued, yet tasty.

12 oz. bottle from a four pack, purchased at Bier Cellar, Portland ME. Very nice eye appeal, pitch black color with thin lasting tan head. Aroma is mild roast, deep barley, and graham cracker notes.

I consumed this at cellar temperature and was hoping for some bold flavor. The flavor is good, light roast, chocolate hints, dark fruits and just a light note of alcohol. My problem with this the thinner body with a watery texture. When I drink a R.I.S I want and look for a full, dense mouthfeel. This does not have that. A few years ago this Brewer had an Imperial Stout called Vlad, Newport Storm should have just re-brewed Vlad because this is lacking. When I purchased this I was hoping for a remake of Vlad, I was disappointed with this attempt.

Bottle from Nikki’s Liquors, Providence. It pours hazy rose - red with a decent off-white head. The nose is soft, fruity, fragrant, candied fruits, mild sour green apple, strawberry ice cream and glace cherry. The taste is crisp, tart, sour cherry, strawberry, tart green apple, lemon sherbet, lactic acid edge and light apple cider vinegar with a dry, tart finish. Light - Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty tasty. Clean, tart and fruity.

(Thanks, Gene! "Travlr") Bottle. A- Coconut, chocolate, vanilla, almond joy, slightly nutty, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, off white fizzy head. T- Coconut, cocoa. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, astringent finish. O- The aroma wasn’t super strong here but it was nice. Almost like a liquid almond joy. Sort of translated into the taste although the coconut was a lot heavier here and a little dry. The finish was odd and kind of ruined the whole beer a bit, but still a nice yummy porter. Makes a good breakfast beer.
