Description
Four Quarters Brewing, founded in March 2014, is a 10 barrel brewery located in Winooski VT specializing in sours, stouts, and hoppy beers.
Four Quarters embodies the cycle of life that each ingredient makes on its way to your glass. A seed is carefully planted and nurtured, growing with the energy of the sun, Earth, wind, and rain. Its fruits are harvested, later the seeds, and the cycle of life starts again. Our logo, the moon phases, encapsulates this cycle, present in every living thing. When we create, we are celebrating the Earth and everything that grows within.
It is our hope, that by thoughtfully crafting each and every beer with this cycle in mind, we can pass to our drinker, not just a glass of delicious brew, but our passion, our love, and our thankfulness, for all things in our natural world. If you’re ever in Vermont, we’d love to have you come visit our taproom.
We also distribute our beer throughout Vermont, Maine, and eastern Massachusetts.

On draft at the brewery.
Appearance: semi-bronzed orange color with a bar pour's kind of barely any head, no lace.
Aroma: watermelon, sweet wheat, soft grassy hoppiness
Flavor: blends in all those aromas sweetly with a mild aftertaste of watermelon and wheat
Texture: light bodied, extremely sessionable, finishes crisp and quaint with a touch of watermelon
Overall: it would do the trick on a hot Summer's day, there's that and on that note I believe I could come back to.

Can to becher pint glass.
Appearance: ruddy amber close to brown color with a three finger off white foamy head, dissipated to leave mild lace
Aroma: dark toast, rich sweet grains, cocoa nibs, dark bread, earthy character, touch of herbal qualities, some woodiness and some biscuity sweetness
Flavor: meshes all the prior noted aromas together sweetly with a substantial malty dry woody tone; aftertaste is quick through dark bready tones and some cocoa nibs
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, dry on the tongue, finishes dry, toasty and roasty and a touch of dark bread
Overall: pretty good Munich Dunkel lager, seemed a bit different than others I've had but I didn't see real flaws.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: semi-transparent amber to maroon color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some lace
Aroma: orange peel, nutmeg and cinnamon skate over top of an even keeled biscuity to caramel malty base
Flavor: after more warmth the aromas end up blending for a nice semi-sweet to slightly spicy character; mild aftertaste of the nutmeg, orange peel and malt base
Texture: medium bodied, between sessionable and being a sipper, semi-dry along my tongue, finishes with the orange peel and cinnamon
Overall: I'd say twas a nice holiday ale I would welcome again next season.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: a lil less than a finger's worth of white foamy head starts then dissipates slowly and not leaving much lace.
Aroma: big roasty coffee beans, some coffee grounds, ashiness and a subtle roast which livens with some warmth
Flavor: roasty, rich, sweet, subtle bitterness
Texture: medium body, fair smoothness, roastiness is a bit edgy
Overall: I believe I would return to this.

Draught @ Beekman Ale House, Manhattan (Jun 2024). Extremely hazy dark yellow with a foamy off-white head, faint citrus aroma, low carbonation, mildly bitter mango-citrus taste, faint peach flavor, alcohol undertones, somewhat thick body, long medium bitter finish with alcohol burn at the end. Tasty DIPA.
