Can at home, watching Ireland vs Scotland, 10/03/18. Almost clear golden amber with a well appointed off white head that retains well. Nose is bitter orange, grassy notes, caramel, pine dusting, semi dank hop exhaust. Taste comprises grapefruit, pine resin, caramel, bitter sweet tropical fruits, orange wine gums, toasted malts, sweet ripe melon, roasted mango. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, drying close peppered with juicy come danko hop bitterness. Solid DIPA.

Can. Turner’s, Sheffield. Pale copper colour. Moderate haze. Messy, super sticky, leggy, lacing, white head. Handsome beer. Nose has, according to the missus, “paint stripper”. I’m going for skunky resin. Brûléed citrus. Caramel. Mint leaf. Taste is chewy sweet, and full, resinous bitter. Rich on the palate. A bit sticky and syrupy. Feels a bit stewed on the finish.

Can thanks to Dan. It pours clear copper with a thick off-white head. The aroma is sticky, sweet, oily, resinous, touch green, danky, brown bread and dusty peach. The taste is sticky, sweet, oily, slick, green, weedy, dank, chewy, heavy, brown bread, toffee, peach, mango, bit of booze and spice with a drying and chewy finish. Medium body and highish foamy carbonation. A bit heavy for the style. Not so bad.

Can shared on the train for Dan's stag. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy, off-white head. Ripe citrus in the nose, melon, bready malts. Medium sweet flavour with some booze, grass, lots of bread, some caramel, pine. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. WRming finish, sticky and resinous, some lightly toasted pale bread, jammy citrus, oranges. A bit hefty but OK.

Dan's Stag. Train rate. Thanks to Dan. Light haze on this burnished gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Soft sweet malts, light creamy sweetness. Good soft hop skunk. Mild spice. Light pine. Rich resinous citric peel. Soft finish. Nice enough.
